Our newest instrument, Centervue DRS can take an advanced digital retinal photograph. By taking a digital fundus photo image of the back portion of the eye (the retina), Drs. Cho and Wong can detect and monitor ocular health.
Here are some benefits of getting your retina photographed at your next exam:
- It will be a baseline measurement for future comparison. There have been so many times where the Doctors have wished that they could’ve seen a picture of a patient’s eyes when they were younger to compare to make see if what they were seeing today was present a while ago. This could save a lot of testing to determine if a condition is congenital or active.
- Great way to detect Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, Retinal Detachments and many more eye issues detectable at very early stages. 27% of the American diabetic population are undiagnosed and 50% of general population have undiagnosed glaucoma. With these numbers, the retinal camera would be a great tool to detect undiagnosed conditions early.
- We email it to you so you have a record of it forever.
Think of getting your retina photograhed as an investment because you’ll never be able to go back in time to take a picture.
Macular Degeneration Retina – A chronic condition that causes central vision loss.
Diabetic Retina – The dark red blots are hemorrhages and the yellow blobs are results from leaking blood vessels.
